Hello everyone, I’m Twee

I started my life in the far far East, grew up in Italy, moved to California for a while and then back to Italy again, where I currently reside. Good food and good company have always been a staple in our family, wherever we happened to be. My father is the best home cook  of my acquaintance. I have to thank him for instilling in me an unquenchable zest for life and a taste for fine living, and eating.

Why did I start a blog?

50% because i needed a creative outlet in during a rough spot.

50% because i firmly believe that food is a very effective way of overcoming cultural differences and diffidence, and because i find that people get along so much better on a full stomach.

Her generosity in sharing  what she knows and experiences truly shines through her posts.  I love how her careful and entertaining  “exploration and conversation on Asian food, cooking and culture.” (vietwordkitchen.com) is helping me to find my own place in the world and get to know my origins better than I had until now.

Challenges along the way?

Scoring a home cooked meal invitation from anyone. Seriously, since I made my love for eating and preparing good food (not necessarily fine food), only my mother in law still occasionally feeds me. Come on people! I’ve always ate and enjoyed everything, haven’t I?
